Are you looking for luxury villa holidays in the Algarve? Then look no further. Our self-catering villa, Casa Na Colina, is perched on top of a hill overlooking the beautiful and historic town of Tavira in the Eastern Algarve. One of the loveliest Algarve resorts in the south-east corner of Portugal, it is a mere 30-minute drive from Faro airport and only 20 minutes from the Spanish border.
It is a spacious, fully-equipped, modern, 3-bedroomed, 3-bathroomed villa with large sun terrace and a superb communal swimming pool on a small, exclusive development. It has double glazing throughout and air conditioning / heating in all bedrooms and the lounge / dining room.
The large terrace has a built-in gas barbecue and seats 6 comfortably for outdoor dining. There are also sun loungers and recliners.
Please note: the house is strictly non-smoking.
Sorry, no pets are allowed. Children over 5 are welcome. The house is not ideal for wheelchair users (although not impossible) as there are steps and the paths are not very easy to negotiate in a wheelchair.
Updates
We are always improving and upgrading the facilities in our home. In 2007 we put in a PC with broadband and 2 bikes, and in 2008 we installed a better dishwasher and upgraded the washing machine to a washer/dryer. We have also fitted mosquito screens to all patio doors and windows. We actually get very few mosquitoes up on Alto do Perogil, but you can now sleep with the windows open safe in the knowledge that you won't be bothered by any unwelcome visitors.
Weather in the Algarve
With over 300 days of sunshine a year it's no surprise that southern Portugal is a favourite holiday spot. Summers are hot and dry (and reliable!), with temperatures not usually getting higher than the mid-thirties. June and September are also lovely months, with temperatures a little lower but still perfect beach weather. Although November and April can be wet, the climate is still pleasant through the winter months and we've spent many a day in December and January in t-shirts. The Algarve really is a year-round destination, and is perfect for golf, walking, horse-riding, and bird-watching at any time - though you may find it a bit too hot in the height of summer.
Cheap Car Hire in the Algarve
Although it is possible to get about without a car, you will undoubtedly benefit from the freedom of having your own transport. There's a huge choice of car hire companies, but we have been using a local company for the past 4 years and have found them to be cheap and reliable. As part of the service we offer our guests, we are happy to get quotes and book your hire car for you.
Happy Guests
We do our best to make your holiday as special as possible. Casa Na Colina is also our holiday home, so it is furnished and equipped to feel like home from home and not just a rental property. When you arrive a welcome pack will be waiting for you, containing enough basics for a simple meal, so you don't have to go shopping when you're tired from the travelling and all you want to do is collapse on the terrace in the sun. Typically this will contain things like bread, butter, milk, ham, cheese, fruit, salad, and a couple of bottles of wine. If you're vegetarian, coeliac, or have any other dietary requirements, just let us know and we'll tailor the welcome pack accordingly. Shortly after you arrive (and at your convenience), Tanya's parents (Gill and Ian) - who live locally and will be your contact in case of queries or emergencies - will do a 'meet and greet' to make sure you have everything you need and to answer any questions, explain how to get to the supermarkets, etc.
We also do take note of your suggestions for improvements and on almost every trip we have something extra for the house in our suitcase.
Some of our lovely guests have kindly allowed us to add their emails and visitors' book comments to the testimonials page, so you don't just have to take our word for how good it is!
